Despite the complete and utter inconvenience of it, I cannot deny the blissful silence uninterrupted by the shrill ringing of the telephone is a very nice change of pace.

A downside to this is it makes it far more difficult for me to track those who have YET to turn in year end reports. If they are not turned into me by end of business TOMORROW, there shall be dire consequences. It is really not that difficult to turn these things in on time, the end of year comes like the sun rising each morning, a sure and unchanging thing. A little effort is all I'm asking here.

It is for circumstances such as these that I'm honestly glad I keep a couple changes of clothes here at the office because it would have been intolerable to sit here all day in soaked garments. I find it interesting that the ties are have disappeared though...

Kisuke, I do hope you're surviving? I haven't seen you since the poker game Friday and I must say, old friend, that you were looking quite rough....your little succubus wearing you down?

Rangiku-san, do let me know if you'd like to skip out for lunch one day this week?

[Locked To Self]

Of course those things pale in comparison to my little...visit I received last night from the two officers that showed up on my doorstep. After Retsu's alarming announcement, of course that was the first thing that came to mind thinking that my so very FALSE test results had some sort of repercussions (this is obviously not something I have any expertise in). Apparently my idiot son has gotten himself into some sort of a mess with the issues at the company.

Though it was rather amusing with the officers coming to me apparently steeling themselves for some enraged parent. Personally I think a couple of nights in confinement will prove an adequate lesson in why things must handled and handled properly so they don't make it this far.

Let him have the quiet time to think over his mistakes and then I suppose I will bail him out. Maybe. But either way, Uryuu will just have to deal with the consequences of his actions, whether he realizes the full extent of them or not just yet.

[OOC: Yes, Ryuu is a bastard, but that's nothing new~ He WILL however be sending a good lawyer to his darling son, anonymously of course.]
She was kind enough to drop off my missing reports from the trickster's little shifting of belongings. Somehow she had also managed to end up with my cigarettes, very odd as everyone else only had singular pieces here and there. But I digress. The young lady had stopped by on her way out Friday afternoon and had caught me...less then at my best. After finally kicking everyone out of my office from that whole debacle, there was no way I could bring myself to focus on my work so I had pulled out that lovely bottle of 16 year old Lagavulin Kisuke had been kind enough to gift me with for my birthday (the damnable man does have good taste in this arena if nowhere else) and helped myself to a dram to hopefully calm my nerves a bit. Apparently my nerves were a little worse then expected as suddenly it was nearing five o'clock and the bottle was missing a goodly portion.

People hadn't stopped banging on my door from the time I had shut and locked the damned thing, so I hadn't paid any attention to yet another troublesome busybody, but that she had announced that she had somethings of mine. If it hadn't been for that reason (and perhaps just a little too much to drink on an empty stomach), especially in the state that I had been in I would have sent the meddlesome woman on her way. But for some God-forsaken reason, I let her in. Not only had she been kind enough to bring my missing things, apparently Kisuke had intercepted her and sent up some of his curry that I have a particular fondness for. Hn. He was probably on his way to pester me personally hoping the offering would allow him through the door but thought better of it. Wishful thinking I'm sure.

I...honestly don't remember much of what was said or done after letting the woman in, but the thing that I did recall quite clearly was that apparently we're to be attending the company party. Together.

It is my mission this week to get this...date called off.
